Episode 129

Note: I didn’t catch what Arde said in the first few minutes of the epi, so forgive me if that part’s a bit incomplete.

ANG LUNAS NI PIRENA

In a flashback, Hagorn remembers something that Arde told him, to wound Pirena’s hand. He does so using the Kabilan even as he apologizes to his daughter. He then laughs in triumph.

Back in Sapiro, Alena notices the blood on Pirena’s hands and calls everyone’s attention. Mira is especially worried. Imaw thinks Cass may know something, and suggests that someone should go talk with her. Amihan volunteers to go. Aquil offers to accompany her, but Amihan says she can handle herself. Alena, still worried, tells Amihan to bring a weapon. Amihan nods her assent and leaves the scene with all the sanggres looking worried.

In the mountain in Ajantao, Lira is still trying to convince Evades to give her Pirena’s cure (lunas), insisting that she wont leave till she has what she came for. Even the usually proud Wahid has begged the druid. Evades holds his stand, saying that he cant do anything about it and asks them to leave.

Lira remains adamant. She asks Evades that if he wont change his mind, then he’d better kill her now. She won’t leave and would rather die than fail and see enca crumble to dust. She’d rather die than regret not having done anything to save enca.

(*sigh* do I really have to include these three? Epi sum naman e. So I can delete the particularly uninteresting parts, right? Joke. Peace po sa mga Anthony, Banjo at Manang Rosing fans. Kasama naman dito yung parchment e, so importante parin.hehehe…) Somewhere near the tree of Asnamon, Anthony is vainly trying to light a fire in an open area in the midst of blinding winds. He gives up and rolls out to look at Raquim’s parchment that he kept tucked in his left sock (buti hindi nalukot). The glowing scripture is a stark contrast to the darkness surrounding Anthony.

In the woods, Amihan arrives and finds Cass is sitting under a tree. Cass greets her saying that it’s good that she came. Amihan cuts to the chase and asks the old queen if she was the one who sent the Agodo. Cass says it was to prevent Pirena from reaching Devas, explaining to Amihan that her daughter Lira is taking steps to revive Pirena. Cass adds that Lira’s heart and mind are being tried by another being.

Alarmed, Amihan asks if Lira is in danger, to which Cass answers:

“Lahat tayo ay nasa panganib…”

Back in Lireo, Agane looks at the booty brought back from the Ajantao, saying it’s not enough. Asval reasons out that Ybrahim and Lira interfered and that the Ajantao gave them a gantao (the winged unicorn) to flee. Both begin to wonder. Asval can only guess what’ll happen, but he is sure that they are planning something against them and he must find out what.

In limbo, the physical Kabilan is glowing in its sheath. Hitano notices and informs Arde, asking if this means that Hagorn succeeded in finding Pirena’s diwa. He also asks if the Fire Jewel is already in the Hathorian King’s hands. Arde says that is what he wants to happen as well.

Back in the mountain, Evades talks to a persistent Lira, demanding that she leave. Lira refuses. Wahid agrees with her. Evades gives them the ultimatum and throws an energy ball at them. Lira, doesn’t even flinch when it explodes near her and Wahid. Evades marvels at her determination. Lira says she’s more afraid of what will happen to enca and the beings the live in it if she fails in her mission Evades smiles broadly and says the diwata finally learned the true meaning of life. Lira is puzzled.

Elsewhere in the mountain of the Ajantao, a tired Ybrahim is searching for Lira. Stopping to rest underneath a tree, he takes out the kantao that Apitong gave him when he first learned of his heritage and gazes at it, reminiscing (there’s a whole flashback sequence here but I wont delve into that). Suddenly the strange white-clothed warrior that stole Lira’s kantao (henceforth known as the ninja), who had been observing him from the other side of the tree, jumps out and tries to snatch the kantao. The ninja fails and the two go at it.

Anthony wakes Banjo and Manag Rosing up, saying that they must go to Sapiro for both shelter and to discover the mystery behind the parchment.

Ybrahim and the ninja continue to fight with the kantao almost falling into the ninja’s hands.

On (presumably) the other side of the mountain, Lira asks Evades what his statement meant. Evades explains that one shouldn’t go through life in fear. Life is a journey filled with choices (something like that, anyway). He says Lira could’ve saved herself, but didn’t because of her faith (or beliefs). That proves that she was worthy of living. Evades says THAT was the true test and Lira just passed it. He bade her to take a leaf from the Tree Of Life (the one that Wahid attempted to take fruit from).

An immensely relieved Lira thanks Evades and takes a clump of leaves from the Tree Of Life. Evades tells her that those will give Pirena new life. A very serious-looking Wahid asks Evades if he could ask for a favor. When Evades accedes, Wahid (very seriously) asks for a piece of fruit, adding that he’s been dying from hunger for the past few hours. Evades smiles and nods, and Wahid picks what looks lika pear from the Tree.

The three humans are walking in the forest amidst blinding wind and stormy weather. Banjo, who had been continuously weakening, suddenly collapses. Anthony helps him up and prods him to continue walking. A short distance away, Cass appears, looks at the the three and shakes her head in disapprovement.

In the midst of their fight, the ninja does a back flip with the kantao in her hands. Ybrahim demands what she wants with it before managing to knock the precious bracelet from her hands. Sensing that Ybrahim isn’t about to stop anytime soon, the ninja escapes.

Back in Limbo, Hagorn stirs and groans. Hitano and Arde check. Hagorn opens his eyes, turns to Arde, then give Hitano a VERY sinister smile.

In Sapiro, Amihan returns to the castle, asking Lira and Ybrahim’s whereabouts. When no one answers positively, she begins to worry. Just then Lira and Ybrahim appear. After the initial greetings, Amihan worriedly asks her daughter where she has been. Lira answers that she went to get the cure (lunas) for Pirena. She approaches Mira shows her the leaves, telling her that they came from the Tree Of Life and it will bring Pirena back.
