ANG BRILYANTE NG APOY
Friday, October 28, 2005

In Sapiro, a worried Amihan asks Lira if the leaf of life was the reason why she disappeared. Both Lira and Ybrahim apologize.

In limbo, Hagorn is already up and running. Both of his cohorts are pressing him for answers. Arde asks where Pirena is. Hagorn begins to describe the events in the last two epis.

Flashback:

From the wound that Hagorn inflicted upon Pirena’s right hand, Alipato springs out and begins to attack the Hathorian King, cursing him and telling him he has no right to be there. Hagorn easily fends off Alipato’s energy blasts with the Kabilan and manages to successfully hit the Gabay-Diwa with a bolt of his trademark red lightning.

As soon as Alipato goes down from the attack. Pirena suddenly opens her eyes. (Man, the moment I’ve been waiting for all week!!!)

(I was distracted for a while during this part so bear with me if I miss any important details) Back in Sapiro, Imaw calls the attention of the sisters to the butterflies of Devas, who are apparently going back without the keeper of the Fire Jewel.

All of a sudden all the candles and torches in enca light up. Everything that’s meant to be lit up is now blazing more brightly than ever. Almost simultaneously Pirena wakes from her slumber in one breath.

The sisters are all beside themselves with joy and welcome her back. In her euphoria, Amihan approaches Pirena to welcome her some more but Pirena suddenly pushes her away in anger.

The sun appears, and light returns to Lireo. Agane, Asval and co. interpret it as a sign of Hagorn’s success and rejoice in it. In a far corner, an angry Gurna is watching the Hathors rejoice.

In Sapiro, the sisters are still fighting. Pirena calls all of them liars until Mira quips in, managing to stop her mother’s ranting. A now calm Pirena asks who killed her. Amihan answers, saying it was Asval who committed the foul deed.

Recalling her memories before death, Pirena confirms what Amihan and the others are saying. (Flashback sequence again. Everytime I see this sequence I wanna fry Asval and feed him to the dogs, who will probably scoff at it). She then asks her sisters how she was brought back to life. Ybrahim pipes up and tells her it was Lira who found the way. All the other sanggres support his answer while Lira tells Pirena about Evades and the Tree Of Life. Alena finishes by saying that Pirena owes Lira a huge thank you.

Asval, Bandok and Axilom are walking back to the Lirean palace. Bandok asks Asval his plans when Hagorn returns. Asval replies that he will prepare a grand celebration for the Hathorian King’s return. Just as Asval is about to enter the main gate, Gurna sneaks behind him, sword in hand and vengeance in her mind. Naturally Asval senses her and manages to hold his axe to her throat. He declares that soon enca will recognize no other master except him. Gurna snaps back, warns Asval not to have too much faith in his “friend,” adding that he never knows what the sanggres are capable of doing.

Pirena, hard-headed as always, refuses any help from the sanggres in her quest for vengeance against Asval. Lira tries to convince her to join forces with her sisters but Pirena remains adamant.

Back in limbo, Hagorn relates how he saw a new Pirena. He relates how she had called him a name that never expected.

Flashback mode: (there seems to be a lot of them lately, ‘ne?).

“Ama? (Father?),” Pirena says as she sits up turns to Hagorn.

Hagorn, taken aback by what Pirena said, asks why she called him that?

“I feel that the blood that flows through my veins is the same as yours,” she calmly answered.

Beginning to get agitated, Hagorn denies it, saying that if he really was her father, she would obey his commands. He spills out his frustrations, saying that she never listens and always opposes him. Pirena insists, Hagorn loses it and abruptly slaps her face. She then instantly disappears amid a swirl of red light.

At about the same time, Pirena is touching her cheek as she remembers having encountered Hagorn in her journey to Devas but not what they talked about. Amihan cuts in, saying that Hagorn probably took advantage of the situation to confuse her.

Amihan once more asks Pirena back, but she snaps back at Amihan. Danaya loses her cool and shouts at Pirena, telling her she shouldn’t have been revived at all. Pirena answers back and tries to throw a fireball at Danaya, but is shocked when nothing comes out of her hand.

Cut to in limbo Hagorn is also reminiscing. He suddenly snaps back to reality, saying that he has no regrets, for he got what he came for. Hagorn opens his right palm and the Fire Jewel appears. And Hagorn laughs like he has never laughed before.

Back in Sapiro, Pirena is panicking. She accuses everyone, including Mira, of stealing the Fire Jewel. Mira tries to use powers against Pirena, but discovers that her powers are gone as well. Pirena quickly figures out who stole the Jewel and orbs out before any of her sisters has a chance to stop her. Lira prods her mother and Mira to help Pirena.

“Hindi natin siya pwedeng pabayaan (we cant let her go alone)”

The light and warmth brought by the return of the Fire Jewel is felt by every being in enca, all of them unaware of the looming danger they are about to face…
